Mercantile Claims are one of the UK’s leading timeshare termination and claims management specialists. We have successfully helped thousands of clients reclaim money for timeshares and holiday products that were mis-sold to them.

We are delighted to share with our readers, yet another successful claim for one of our clients who have received a settlement of over £15,000.

Unfortunately, for our clients they were the victims of an unscrupulous timeshare exit fraudulent scheme. After years of disappointing timeshare experiences and mounting maintenance fees, our clients decided they wanted an end to their contract. They had approached their resort multiple times, to complain about the lack of promised services, but not unlike many unhappy timeshare owners, the resort blocked every attempt to terminate their agreement.

In 2015, they were approached by a Timeshare Termination company, who offered to buy their timeshare unit claiming they had purchasers lined up, and the resort was a popular location. Intrigued by this, our clients agreed to fly to Tenerife and attend a presentation. All they had to do was pay for the flights and their accommodation was free of charge.

They were approached by friendly staff at the offices in Tenerife and the meeting got off to a positive start. During the meeting they were given details about how a buyer had been found for their timeshare and it was going to be a straightforward process to relinquish it. The meeting continued on for several hours and our clients were subjected to high pressure and dishonest sales tactics. This scam company continued to tell our clients that they would be offered multiple benefits, like cheap flights, reduced price car hire and a choice of luxury resorts to visit.

Needless to say, none of these promised perks ever materialised and the timeshare remained unsold. Our clients repeatedly contacted this company and were given a host of excuses. Eventually they agreed to attend another meeting in Tenerife to try to resolve some of these issues. It was at this meeting that our clients realised they had become the victims of a sophisticated timeshare scam, and the company had no intention and no buyers lined up to purchase their unit. The company simply tried to sell them further timeshare related products at highly inflated prices.

They rejected the company’s relentless attempts to upsell them further and returned home. This is when they contacted Mercantile Claims, and happily, we have been able to reclaim heir money in full from this fraudulent company.

People who enter into Timeshare agreements often find it difficult to keep up with the mounting maintenance fees and simply cannot afford it any longer. They may also find that the Timeshare no longer suits their needs and simply want to end the contract. There are too many individuals who are willing to take advantage of Timeshare owners and offer fake products, along with Timeshare exit schemes. Before agreeing to any Timeshare termination or exit procedure with an individual or company, seek independent advice and fully research any company you are thinking of working with.

It is also important to remember that purchasing a Timeshare should NEVER be viewed as a financial investment. Timeshare is an investment in lifestyle, in future holidays and family time together. There is almost no resale value to a Timeshare.

The mis-selling of holiday products is, unfortunately, common practice within the holiday industry and these type of crimes often go unreported by the most vulnerable in our society and criminal convictions are few and far between.

If you have purchased a Lifestyle / Concierge Service, a Timeshare or a ‘Holiday Points’ based product from a resort or company and feel unhappy with the service, or feel you have been mis-sold this product, please get in touch with us to discuss how we may be able to help you with a possible Money Back Claim.
